Caserta
Capoluogo di provincia (abitanti comune 68.000, ab. provincia 805.000) di origini recenti. Nacque infatti nel corso del 1700 nei pressi della maestosa reggia di Carlo III di Borbone e prese il nome dal vicino e antico abitato di Casertavecchia. La città è oggi un centro agricolo di rilievo grazie alla sua felice posizione geografica, si trova infatti ai margini della fertile pianura nota come “Terra di Lavoro” (dal nome degli antichi abitanti, i Leborini).
