Enna
Enna (ab. 28.323), situata a 931 metri di altezza, è il capoluogo di provincia più alto d’ Italia. Essa giace infatti su di un monte isolato, tale da rendere ben visibile ogni parte del territorio circostante.
Proprio in virtù della sua posizione panoramica sull’ altopiano, dominante su distese di uliveti, campi di grano e mandorli, la città ha acquisito la fama di “belvedere di Sicilia”. Oltre ad avere sempre avuto la funzione storica di roccaforte imprendibile.
