Description
A summer and winter vacation resort located in a valley at the extreme northern part of the high Sangro plain, well known as the headquarters of the National Park of the Abruzzo and an ideal base of departure for excursions and ascents in the park. The ski area is formed by 12 downhill slopes of varying difficulty, extending over a total of 20 km. Among these we note the "Direttissima,” "Nordica" and "Panoramica.” Lovers of cross-country skiing, appreciated

because they have less environmental impact on the protected nature in the park, can cover suggestive hiking trails or slopes of medium difficulty, such as Macchiarvana, 5 km long, and Genziana, 10 km long. Particularly interesting are the itineraries for alpine skiing: the crossing of the Fondillo Valley, Diavolo Pass, the trail from Pescasseroli to Terraegna, and the ascent up the slopes of Mount Tranquillo, to an elevation of 1830 meters.
After-ski activities include many alternatives: covered swimming pool with sauna, solarium, riding center, tennis courts, sports center, handicraft shops with objects in sculpted wood, wrought iron or copper, restaurants, pizzerias, bars and discotheques.
To see, the medieval church dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul, contained in a beautiful urban center, with narrow alleys and wooden terraces clinging to old houses.
