Located in a wonderful position between Mount Amiata and the Orcia Valley, Bagni San Filippo is a charming little town and ideal destination for people who want to get away from the stress of everyday living. This enchanting corner of Tuscany takes its name from the hermit saint who chose to live his solitary life here at the end of the 13th century, and owes its fame to the beneficial properties of its five hot springs with a temperature of 52°C. The sulphurous waters containing sulphate and bicarbonate of sulphur come to the surface in the spa establishment, wellbeing centre and thermal swimming pool that, together with the hotel and restaurant, make up the Bagni San Filippo complex. Treatments are carried out for nose and throat ailments, respiratory and gynaecological disorders, skin conditions, and problems with bones and joints.
After swimming in the delightful open-air pool and having treatments in the well-equipped beauty centre, visitors to Bagni San Filippo can take advantage of the town’s central position to visit the numerous places of interest in Siena and the surrounding area.
