Description
A famous summer and winter vacation area located at the base of the Dolomite group of Puez-Odle, surrounded by the high walls of Sella and Sasso Lungo. The ski slopes are located in two areas: Danterceppies – Plan de Gralba and Sella Pass-Ciampinoi. The modern, rapid lift facilities, reaching 2254 meters in elevation, serve many slopes of varying degrees of difficulty. Among these are the “Cin,” “Ciampinoi,” and “Sasslong,” headquarters for downhill competitions valid for the world cup,

but above all the extremely long itinerary of the “Sella Ronda,” considered the most beautiful ski carousel in the world. This is developed around the group with the same name over a distance of 46 kilometers, with a change in elevation of almost 4000 meters. The Selva area is included in the vast circuit of the “Dolomiti Superski,” which permits one to ski with a single pass in twelve different areas, for a total of 150 kilometers of slopes, 50 of which have artificial snow. There are also good possibilities for alpine skiers and lovers of cross-country, who have many demanding itineraries available.
For after-ski, there are many choices: covered tennis courts, bowling, archery, gym, ice stadium, covered swimming pools, cinemas, bars, restaurants and discos. To see, the parish church of S. Maria ad Nives, flanked by a 17th century bell-tower, and the ruins of the Wolkenstein Castle.
