Maratea is the only outlet of Basilicata on Tyrrhenian Sea and it wedges oneself in the Gulf of Policastro with its 30 km of coast, between the Campania and the Calabria. |

Named for its rich history, La Locanda delle Donne Monache was originally built as a convent in 1735 to welcome the religious order of the Visitandine nuns of San Francesco di Sales. Located in the heart of the historical centre of Maratea, close to the Mother Church, the convent developed absorbing over the years some private buildings provided by local benefactors.
The rooms and communal spaces, once dedicated to meditation and prayer, now welcome guests with complete modern amenities. A mix of minimalist decor with unusual furniture is the result of a thorough recent restoration and renovation.
Rates don't include the city tax (from the 1st June to the 31st October) of 3,00 € per person per night to pay in cash at the check out. The tax is due for a maximum of 5 nights. Children under 15 years old don't have to pay the city tax. |

By car: Motorway A3 Salerno-Reggio Calabria, exit at Lagonegro Nord, then take the SS 585 Valle del Noce, exit Maratea and SS 18.
By train: Line (IC or EC) Roma-Napoli--Reggio Calabria-Maratea Station Eurostar from Milano, Roma, Napoli, etc. for Reggio calabria, Sapri Station (15 mins. from Maratea).
By plane: Airport of Napoli Capodichino (207 km) or Lametia Terme airport (152 km) taxi service available upon request. |
