Die Residence La Vetreria befindet sich im Stadtzentrum Catanias. Gleich nebenan steht das von Friedrich II. von Hohenstaufen erbaute Kastell Ursino. Über den Dächern der umstehenden alten Palazzi hat man einen schönen Blick auf den Ätna und bis zur Hafenbucht von Augusta.
In kurzer Zeit kann man zu Fuß das Herz der Stadt erreichen. Die Pescheria, ein alter, charakteristischer Fischmarkt, durchschreitend steht man auf dem Domplatz.
